Task-Based Learning and Emergentism

In our courses, we make an effort to create an environment that favors language acquisition, or the emergence of language skills. To do this, we aim create a learning environment that minimizes stress and encourages effort and learning from mistakes. Modern research in language acquisition shows the most efficient way to learn a language is by using Task Based Methods. To acquire a language, we must use it to accomplish real tasks. Grammar, vocabulary lessons, drills, and exercises are still important, but we maximize task completion in our online language courses and private lessons. We use language to accomplish tasks in real life, so we do it in the classroom too!

Prioritizing Communication

For Lingo Lango, the goal of language learning is to develop skills for communication. We empower our students to feel confident in their abilities to use language to express themselves and accomplish goals in the target language.

Flipped Classroom

Your time is valuable, and learning a language takes time. To maximize the opportunity to communicate with your instructor and peers in the classroom, we give our students resources and learning materials to help develop their skills outside of the classroom, and come into the online language courses with the information they need to make communicating with their classmates and instructor easier.
